Join us in Pleasanton for the Tri-Valley Health Fair this Saturday, April 16!

Join us at the Tri-Valley Health Fair this Saturday, April 16 from 9:00am-1:00pm at the Fire House Arts Center, 4444 Railroad Ave, Pleasanton, CA!
In partnership with the City of Pleasanton and the 30-member Tri-Valley Health Initiative, the Alameda County Health Care Services Agency’s Center for Healthy Schools and Communities is hosting a health fair for the residents of the Tri-Valley communities in Pleasanton, Livermore, and Dublin.
Partners will offer free dental and vision screenings for students and adults, free physical exams for students, workshops on health and wellness, over 20 resource booths, and entertainment.

Drug Take-Back Day: Thursday, March 3, 2016, 8:30am-3:00pm at Eastmont Self-Sufficiency Center

March is Prescription Drug Awareness Month, and Alameda County is raising awareness about the risks of improper drug use and disposal.

Individuals can drop off their old, unused, or expired medications (pills, liquids, or creams) during the event on March 3, 2016 from 8:30am-3:00pm at Eastmont Mall.  Permanent drug take-back box locations are listed at http://acgov.org/medscoalition/disposal.htm.

Sign up for the Emergency Medical Response Program at the REACH Ashland Youth Center!

Soulciety, Bay EMT, and the REACH Ashland Youth Center are looking for young adults ages 17.5 to 24 who want to work in the medical field, save lives, and make a difference in our community. Learn how to become an emergency medical responder, receive your CPR certification, and earn up to $800 for completing program activities. This course is a pre-course for the REACH Rescue EMT Program.

Grand Opening of the Barbara Lee Center for Health and Wellness in the San Leandro Unified School District



The Center for Healthy Schools and Communities, San Leandro Unified School District, Native American Health Center, Office of Supervisor Wilma Chan, and City of San Leandro are excited to announce the grand opening of Alameda County’s 29th school health center, the Barbara Lee Center for Health and Wellness. The Barbara Lee Center for Health and Wellness is located across the street from San Leandro High School at 2251 Bancroft Ave, San Leandro. The school health center will provide health and wellness services, recreation, and leadership opportunities to students as well as a family resource center.

Want to better support new fathers? Become a Boot Camp for New Dads Facilitator


In collaboration with Alameda County Public Health Department’s Family Health Services Fatherhood Initiative, your organization can provide the men of your community with Boot Camp for New Dads. Boot Camp for New Dads provides a man-to-man format for fathers-to-be, under the guidance of experienced facilitators. This training will teach you how to coach new dads using Boot Camp’s evidence-based curriculum and approach.
